Great Local Spots Near Centennial Glass in Ottawa’s East End

The Centennial Glass Depot showroom is located in Ottawa’s East end, and we’re proud to be surrounded by so many fantastic local businesses. Whether you’re dropping off a project for glass cutting and edging or picking up a completed order, there’s plenty to do nearby while you wait.

We’d love to share some of our favourite places in the neighbourhood:

Where to Eat, Shop, and Explore Near Our Ottawa Showroom

Culinary Conspiracy

Open Monday to Friday 11AM–6PM, Saturday 10AM–4PM.

While you’re waiting for the Centennial Glass team to complete your glass services, we highly recommend walking next door to Culinary Conspiracy for lunch or a snack. This gourmet food shop offers soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, and desserts — and we especially love the barbecued meat sandwiches made in their very own wood-fired smoker.

No need to worry about dietary restrictions — Culinary Conspiracy caters to gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets. It’s also a great place to pick up holiday gifts for friends or family, including house-made jams and sauces, locally produced honey, and gourmet gift baskets.

St. Laurent Centre

Open Monday to Saturday 9:30AM–9PM, Sunday 11AM–5PM (see website for holiday hours).

If you’re looking to get even more shopping done, the St. Laurent Centre mall is just a short five-minute drive away. It’s filled with popular fashion and gift stores such as Roots, Gap, Bath and Body Works, and Chapters. The mall also offers free parking, a food court, and large department stores. If you’re not in a rush, stop by Rainbow Cinemas on the lower level to catch a recent movie at a great price.

Trainyards Shopping Centre

Hours vary by store — see online for details.

Located just across from the St. Laurent Centre, Ottawa’s Trainyards is a large outdoor shopping centre featuring over half a million square feet of retail space. It’s the perfect place to get all of your errands done in one trip — from grocery shopping and the LCBO to a fitness centre and dental office. If you’d rather relax, meet a friend at the large Starbucks café and enjoy a coffee.

Museum of Science and Technology

Open Tuesday to Sunday 9AM–5PM.

The Canada Science and Technology Museum is another great place to spend a few hours, especially if you have children with you. It’s the largest of its kind in Canada and focuses on teaching visitors first-hand how technology and science have transformed our country through interactive exhibits. The museum also includes a gift shop and cafeteria, and tickets are free for children under three.
